Terms of Service — Mind Trace

Effective date: 27 July 2026

Last updated: 27 July 2026

Developer: Astraknight

Contact: team@astraknight.com

These terms are the agreement between you and Astraknight ("we", "us") for your use of the Mind Trace mobile game ("the app"). By downloading or playing Mind Trace you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app — no hard feelings.

Like our Privacy Policy, these terms are written in plain English. We've kept them as short as an honest set of terms can be.

About this app. Mind Trace is an independent experiment — built to find out whether this kind of game has real demand, and how players engage with and return to it. It isn't currently run as a commercial product, and whether or when that changes is entirely Astraknight's decision to make.

Summary

1. Who we are

Mind Trace is developed and published by Astraknight. You can reach us any time at team@astraknight.com (general enquiries) or support@astraknight.com (bug reports and support).

2. Your licence to play

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Mind Trace on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial entertainment. That's the whole deal — play the game, enjoy it, tell your friends.

This licence does not allow you to:

3. What belongs to whom

Mind Trace's code, game design, original artwork, name, logo, and the Astraknight brand are owned by Astraknight and protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that ownership to you.

Some elements of the app — for example, audio — may be licensed from third parties rather than owned by Astraknight outright. Those elements remain the property of their respective owners and are used under licence; Astraknight doesn't claim ownership of anything it doesn't own.

Your device, your time, and your ever-improving memory remain entirely yours.

4. Scores, ratings, and progress

Mind Trace tracks in-game numbers such as your score, streaks, Memory Rating, and Brain Age. These exist purely for your enjoyment:

5. Ads and third-party services

Mind Trace is built with Google AdMob (advertising) and Google Firebase (anonymous analytics and crash reporting) integrated into the app. Advertising is currently switched off — the app shows no ads. Astraknight may enable advertising at any time, at its own discretion, without this being a "change to these terms" requiring separate notice beyond an update to this page; the app's store listing discloses that it contains advertising capability regardless of whether ads are actively shown at any given moment. Firebase's anonymous analytics and crash reporting operate regardless of the ad setting, so we can understand how the app is used and keep it stable.

What these services collect and the choices you have (including consent controls in the EEA/UK) are described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us. If and when ads are shown, they come from third parties — we don't endorse the products advertised, and your dealings with an advertiser are between you and them.

6. Updates, changes, and availability

We actively develop Mind Trace. That means we may:

Because the game is free and progress lives only on your device, we don't owe compensation for changes to or discontinuation of the app — but we'll always aim to treat players with respect on the way through.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use Mind Trace to do anything unlawful, don't misrepresent your affiliation with Astraknight, and don't attempt to interfere with other players' use of the app or with the services that keep it running.

8. Disclaimer — the "as-is" part

Mind Trace is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Mind Trace is a game: it is not a medical, diagnostic, or cognitive-therapy product, and metrics like "Brain Age" and "Memory Rating" are playful in-game scores, not clinical measurements.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Astraknight will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app — which, Mind Trace being free, is nothing.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — and nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Termination

You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app. If you materially breach these terms, your licence to use the app ends automatically at that point — you're simply no longer using it within the terms you agreed to.

In practical terms: Mind Trace has no accounts and no server-side enforcement, so we have no technical means to remotely disable an individual copy already on your device. What we can do, in response to a breach or for any other reason, is stop distributing the app, remove it from app stores, or decline to provide further updates or support to it. Sections that by their nature should survive (3, 8, 9, 14) survive termination.

11. Google Play

Where you obtain Mind Trace from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. If those terms conflict with these on a point about the store itself, the Play terms win for that point.

12. Children

Mind Trace is not directed at children under 13. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, please only use the app with a parent or guardian's permission.

13. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes we'll make the change visible in or alongside the app (for example in update notes). Continuing to play after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes belong to the courts there — except that if you live in the EEA or UK, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection rules, and the right to bring proceedings, in the country where you live.
